Dear Friends and Family,

It is with heartfelt gratitude that Moriya and I write to you as this year’s honorees of Kehilas Yaakov Sulitz’s annual Melava Malka. This special event is not only an opportunity to gather as a kehilla but also a chance to express our hakaras hatov to the shul, its leadership, and especially the Rebbe, his Rebbetzin, and their family for their invaluable contributions to the community.

My connection to the shul began a few years ago when a friend and I joined the night Kollel to renew our chavrusa shaft after the COVID pandemic. What began as nightly visits gradually developed into a deeper connection with the shul, more regularly attending the Shabbos davening and shul events. We also decided to host the Shabbos bris of our son, Chaim Aryeh, in the shul where we were honored to have the Rebbe shlita serve as sandek.

Along the way, I also discovered the shul’s meaningful link, through the Rebbe’s family, to Reb Shayele Kerestir. I’ve had the privilege of participating in the shul’s annual trip to Kerestir, Hungary to daven by his kever and other kivrei tzaddikim. This is really a special experience which highlights part of the Rebbe’s heilege mesorah and imbues one with a newfound appreciation of tzaddikim. Reb Shayele bears particular significance to my own family since surely some of you know that he is our son’s namesake. Dare I say it was a bit of a surprise that things turned out that way, but nonetheless, it has since become the source of great inspiration.

Overall, the shul is truly a Mikdash Me’at. It’s beautiful bais medrash serves as a catalyst for uplifting and penetrating davening, is an inviting place for limmud torah, and a source of support in times of need. Many who pass through can attest to the natural warmth exuded by the kehilla and leave inspired by the Rebbe’s presence and sterling example. In short, as a center of Torah, Tefilah, and Chessed, the shul strengthens these three crucial pillars which sustain our community and is deserving of our steadfast support.

Please join us in supporting this institution by submitting an ad. We look forward to warmly welcoming you at the Melava Malka, on March 8th.

Best regards,

Ahron and Moriya Fried
